How to evaluate a GEO agency in 2026

Generative Engine Optimization is still a young category. A useful comparison page should make evidence easier to inspect, not hide behind vague scores or unverifiable growth claims.

Start with evidence, not rankings

A good GEO agency should be able to show how it improves brand visibility in AI-generated answers. Look for public methodology, examples of entity work, technical SEO depth, content quality, digital PR capability, and measurement beyond a single prompt.

Useful signals

1

Clear explanation of how the agency measures AI visibility.

2

Evidence of technical SEO, schema, crawlability, and entity work.

3

Content strategy that creates original, citation-worthy material.

4

Digital PR or authority-building capability for third-party mentions.

5

Transparent limits around what can and cannot be guaranteed.

Red flags

Be careful with pages that show ratings, review counts, or percentage improvements without source links. AI search can cite a page because it is easy to parse, not because every number on that page has been independently verified.

A simple scoring model

Score each provider across five dimensions: technical readiness, entity authority, content quality, external citations, and measurement quality. This keeps the comparison explainable and gives buyers a reason to trust the shortlist.
